Carnival and pre-graduation balls are not only great occasions to relax and to get to know new people, but also… to show yourself. Of course, your best side 🙂 While our brilliant jokes will be remebered only by a few lucky people, the rest has to be satisified with our photos from parties posted on Facebook 😉 How can you avoid deleting tags from photos which show you eating something or on which your face looks like the moon? 😀 It’s enough to remember about a few basic rules and thanks to applying them posing to photos will become your favorite party activity. My short guide will provide you with some tips about what you should wear to look slim in photos, how to form your mouth to be expressive enough and what to do with your hands. I will give some of my tricks away. Are you ready? SMILE! 😀
I. MAKE-UP – WHY PANDAS ARE CUTE ONLY IN ZOOS?
Let’s face it: a photographic frame has got its own rights and it’s not a rule that clothes that make you look amazing in the reality, will work well in photos. Falling victim to the camera – it happened to the most stylish stars. A merciless flash was able to change Angelina Jolie’s powder in flour and to transform Eva Longoria into a panda. You can avoid slip-ups, such as not straight eyeliner lines or blusher stains, if you’ll be careful and precise. You have to make sure that your make-up looks good in a daily light (if you can do it) and under a roof. Always choose cosmetics that perfectly match your skin tone. Be exceptionally careful when it comes to contouring: put on your bronzer with the unmost precision and blend it carefully around your lower jaw. Remember not to rise your head too much in photos with flash, if you want to hide your eyebags and if you use an eye highlighter.
If you don’t want to be ashamed of your party photos, control your make-up and… straighten up!
Make sure that your mascara stayed in place and your lipstick isn’t smeared on your teeth or chin – accidents happen 😉 Especially, in the party throes, when you have to control your look in a mirror from time to time and make sure that you don’t gleam too much. Although luminous skin is normally beautiful, it can look greasy in the light of flash. I always have a mattifying powder in my purse, and preferably Sebum Absorbing Tissues. If you go to the party with somebody you can trust, ask him or her to tell you when something is wrong with your appereance. Eventually, what are friends for 🙂
II. FACE – DUCK FACE AND FISH GAP FACE, PHOTOSHOP IN A REAL LIFE
Undoubtedly, duck face is one of the most famous, online trends 😉 Of course, it’s about a characteristically puffed up mouth in selfie photos. Satirized and loved by millions Instagram users, it created a sizeable portfolio. Thanks to this grimace, your lips seem to be fuller and what is more, your face seems to be slimmer but as some nasty people claim it also seems to be a little bit unwise 😉 In my opinion, duck face may be funny but you have to use it considerably. Maybe that’s why comments like “Make duckface!” began to be boring. Due to this fact, stars made up a new, more subtle method – so called fish gap face (fish-face). To make it, you have to part-open your mouth in a very subtle way(!), loose your jaw and look in a dreamy way in a camera. In that way you’ll definitely sharpen your face shapes and show off indirectly with your snow-white teeth. Surely you recognize it from the Internet, eventually, fish gap face has been promoted by Gigi Hadid and Kendal Jenner for a long time. If you’re afraid that experimenting with your half-opened mouth will give you a stupid face, I’ve got a hint for you – simply smile! Nothing makes you look as beautiful as a relaxed and happy face 🙂 You can forget about your double-chin in your photos, if you rise your chin a little, crane your neck and necessarily lower your arms. Remember also that your face will look more fresh and younger, if you rise your eye-brows while posing. By the way, take care of the shape of your eye-brows and possibly filling in them with a shadow or a pencil earlier. Eyebrows are very important as they give the expression to the whole face and they can “be“ a complete make-up when modelled in a good way.
III. POSING FOR PHOTOS -WHAT TO DO WITH THAT HAND? HOW TO STAND TO PRESENT IN THE BEST WAY?
The rule is easy: every woman wants to look slim and attractive in photos. There’s nothing fun in looking at a hunched figure with hands glued to its sides and with a bit too big belly. Above all, if you want to be satisfied with your photos, don’t pretend that you don’t care about them. If you’re still going to cover your face with hands and to hide yourself behind the back of your attaractive friend at the sight of a camera, I’ve got a sad message to you: SHE is the one who will be the queen of Facebook 😉 So understand at last – you’re beautiful and worth-photographing! 🙂 However, you have to remember about developing the habit of straightening your spine and pulling in your stomach (just a little because you don’t want to look unnatural), if you notice that someone is going to take your picture.
If you want to look like Marylin Monroe in photos, begin to imitate her 🙂 One hand on your hip and a wide smile!
When it comes to the photos of your whole profile, stand in so called contrapposto – one leg carries the weight of the body and is moved to the front, one hand rests on a hip. This way of posing was chosen by Hollywood stars, with Marylin Monroe at the helm. The body resambles the hourglass shape and in this way you look, as if you lost suddenly a few additional kilograms and built higher self-esteem. If the circumstances are favourable, stand sideways and leave some space between the elbow and the waist. You may also apply the most favorite way of celebrities: have your back on a photograher and just look over your shoulder (just like Kate Bosworth) or use the tricks of ancient masters of sculpture – it’s not without a reason that sculptures of Michelangelo are so noble 🙂
IV. PLACE: BETWEEN A FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND A RUBBISH BIN – THE IMPORTANCE OF SURROUNDINGS
It’s clear that every photo would look better taken on the Californian beaches or in a professional studio 😉 Unfortunately, life isn’t so beautiful and sometimes each of us has to face the necessity of posing under unfavorable conditions. In extreme situations, for example, at the table covered with plates full of herrings at a friend’s tiny flat 😀 Your dress isn’t the only thing to blame if posting such photos would be shameful for you. The frame composition, surroundings and requisites are essential. But what does it mean exactly? 😉 Well, noone looks well with a platter of cold hams with mustard and a rubbish-bin by side or with washed clothes thrown all over the room. I’m sure that you know these photos which became objects of ridicule: an enormous mess in many of them is just an addition to selfies of beautiful girls. And that’s a pity 😉 If you know that someone is going to take your picture in a minute, look around and get rid of that empty Mirinda bottle, behind of which the top of your head peers out, and, I’m begging you, take that beer bottle out of your hand! 🙂 Believe me, a half-litre bottle doesn’t look as nice as a drink in an elegant glass held in a hand in a way that James Bond’s girls used to do it 😉
V. OUTFIT: MIRROR, MIRROR TELL ME – HOW TO CATCH MY MISTAKES
Look at your photos and try to figure out what you can improve in your appearance. This is the way of celebrities – they practise in front of a mirror, take test-photos and decide which face profile is better. I wasn’t an exception and also needed a long time to look at my photos with certain distance and to catch my mistakes. Of course, we can’t become too obsessed with our photos 😉 You’ve got the right to act the fool in front of a camera, have a luminous forehead or a failed haircut. Anyways, you are marvellous! 🙂 It’s about knowing how to pose to be a sensation in your photos from carnival parties. Precisely because of that I highlight the importance of being aware of your advantages and coming to like yourself in photos. Just try! :* Before you go out, look at your figure in a big mirror and take note how your dress would look in photos. For example, a dress with wide sleeves presents the best when you lie your hands on the waist (then you accentuate it) and if you wear a pencil skirt, cross your legs. Proven method! 😀 Be careful with photos taken from above (it’s a good strategy only for taking a selfie as it makes your figure shorter) and flash. Flash revealed Agnieszka Wesołowska’s bright bra hidden under a black turtle-neck and deprived Drew Barrymore of her waist because she had decided to wear a patterned costume designed by Dries Van Noten on a gala. This problem keeps coming back even during professional photo shoots. An experienced photographer can reprimand a stylist that even though a given dress is incredible and costs an arm and a leg, it will look cheap… in this light. If you don’t want to provoke questions about you being pregnant, avoid satin – it brings out your curves and awfully wrinkles, so it rarely works in your favor in photos. Never ever go out to a party without your underwear ( I barely need mention this fact 😉 ) and memorize the following rule: a BLACK BLOUSE – a BLACK BRA. Snow-white clothes may seem like one big stain in a bright light of a flash. Saturated colors are definitely the most photogenic: cobalt, lemon or red. I know what I’m talking about as I’ve experimented with every color of the Earth! 😀
Great tips! Thanks for sharing!
