Are you ready for a little bit of the history of art? 🙂 It has already passed 121 years since Alfons Mucha designed his famous poster for the play “Gismonda” starring Sarah Bernhardt in 1984 on Christmas Day. The world of that time was crazy about artful patterns created by the master of Art Nouveau. Not only Mucha’s paintings were enthusiastically purchased but also wallpapers, labels and books’ covers of his design. His characteristic drawings are still a great inspiration for furniture and fabric designers of our times. The print on my dress resembles an intricate iris stained glass-work by the Czech artist. A black and white overprint was juiced up with the drop of claret and noble indigo and a comfortable, elastic material was combined with the big amount of elegant chiffon. “Stained glass-work”print models your figure in a clever way – shapes it up and curves it exactly in these places where you should be curved 😉 Preparing this look, I was thinking about turn-of-the-century Wien. I decided to choose jewelery imitating tsarist jewelers and a toque with a veil on it.and instead of wearing an ordinary trench coat, I decided to wear a short, snowwhite coat with decorative wisps of a long fur and little cristals. I imagine that ladies from the 19th century would dress themselves in this way if they had the occassion to walk along Moktowska Street 😉 But I’m also sure that they would refresh their wardrobe with modern details – fashion loves eclecticism! White nails and rock high-heels decorated with hobnails contrast with the romantic spirit of this set. If you combine sandals with thick, matt pantihose, you can undoubtedly dance all night long wearing them more than once during all carnival parties! Don’t forget about your ravishing matte lipstick. I chose burgund – it’s the hit of this season! 🙂
