The more people have left the show, the more clashes there are: the teams compete, allies fight, and girls stand up against boys. Will group solidarity overcome cool calculation? Every day is a new challenge!
DAY 10 – PUTTING TOGETHER A MAP AND TASKS IN THE CIRCLE
Our first task of the day was to find a specific camping in a National Park. But before we left, we were given… puzzles to complete a map. Skills and time was what mattered – every second cost PLN 1. Even though up to now I’d rather stand aside and observe the participants’ behavior, this time, for the sake of the group, I decided to get myself down to work, and take the role of the leader. I also managed to observe who was the last one to help, and made sure that noone (especially the Agent) stood and did nothing 😀 My clear voice and consequence worked on the group like a refreshing shower – we finished the task amazingly fast. And there was no fight who should do what! 😉 yet it was our decision to make whether the camping marked blue (shorter way, but more complicated), or red (longer, but more complicated). I noticed that Hubert (of whom many think that he’s the agent, was the first one to suggest to go to the blue point. Joanna, who “just wanted to check the group’s reaction” agreed with him. What’: surprising, their suggestion made us unanimously choose the red spot. No authority, or… No trust? They both quickly changed their strategy and, just like the rest, finally decided to vote for the blue spot. The girls, who were sitting on a truck, and had the map in their hands, were followed by the guys. The way itself was terribly hard: the heat, no shade at all, and the map showed only the main roads. Trust me – it wasn’t hard to get lost in such circumstances. Well, another thing’s that I might be the colorful princess (who, if not a slipper, loses her hat :P), but when it comes to the task, I much rather focus on the matter itself than on the scenery. Lack of attention turned out to have been our biggest enemy, and accompanied by a couple of gossiping girls it made me even more tired than the temperature 😉
Games are like life – you sometimes have to know how to be restrained, but sometimes you have to get down to work.
You must be wondering, why we suddenly changed our minds when it comes to the campings? We spent an hour and a half looking for the right route, and were very tired, so as we saw the signs indicating the blue camp, we took it for a gift from the Heaven – the only sure thing that could give us a bit of rest. So we took a new direction! In the meantime Hubert managed to change his mind, and suddenly (again against the majority) he decided to find the red camping. Intuition of a careful player, or the Agent’s strategy? All the more that after 4 hours of driving it turned out that the red campsite was our destination. There were no rows, we just all agreed that we all were guilty of not succeeding in this task. Apart from Hubert, who had a problem with Tomek all the time. After hours of pointless wondering around an African National Park, and a supper that we had to make by ourselves, it turned out that it wasn’t everything.
In the evening we were told to make a circle and have been chined up to a rope. The task was to choose between the key, and the immunity to be promoted to the next episode. The person who’d choose this solution would have to spend the whole night out there. The trophee stages were showing up in the circle every 5 minutes. This time I decided to observe Tomek and Antek, they just literally MADE the others reach for their keys. Some called it blackmailing, I call it – psychological game… Almost an Agent-like one. The most imortant thing is that the tactic was efficient and noone disobeyed. I’d lie if I sait that I wasn’t seduced by the immunity 😉 But I aleays stress that loyalty is more important than winning. Especially loyalty towards my own allies! I couldn’t have made a different choice, but let’s be honest – it’s the last time I’ve resigned from taking an immunity. That’s why I didn’t like the other participants’ behavior, who apply the rule of solidarity, only when it suits them (Ewa, who worked against me, and then wanted me to share my tubes with her). But when they don’t see a benefit in somethin they don’t care for the others, and stress that it’s only a game and you have to count on yourself. So don’t be surprised that I also take care of myself!
DAY 11 – IN THE SEARCH OF GOLD
Next day we had a chance to check our performance as gold diggers. We were to find 20 pcs of golden nuggets, and then make a key to the money safe out of them. The task wasn’t easy, especially fir Tomek, who might have seemed to have a 20/20 vision on the open (the keys in ep. 3, or boat navigating in ep 4.), but couldn’t possibly find a shiny piece in a stream 😉 On top of that, instead of leaving this task to others, he was digging up everything you could find in there. It’s very surprising, as he was in the place where the shovel was, and of what we’ve been told: “the gold was right at the top there”. Is he, apart from his hearing problems (casino spelling test in ep. 3), having eyesight problems as well? I, unfortunatly, dropped the bowl… Well some will understand that nobody’s perfect, others will interpret is as the Agent’s work. None of us wanted to deny – draw the conclusions on your own 🙂
Is the Agent hiding in my alliance, or do we just see the success in our own way? Until our strategy works, we’re not gonna change it!
Gold digging was a perfect moment to observe the relations between the participants, and the games they’re playing. Even though neither Tomek and Antek, nor me managed to get any gold (CAN YOU IMAGINE THE QUEEN OF ACCESSORIES WITHOUT HER TRINKETS? :D), we bought the gold from Kinga, and managed to make the key anyway. In the safe we found the money and a piece of paper saying that the money will be doubled in the next task. Does the fact that noone in my alliance completed the task mean that there’s an Agent among us? Or do we just have a plan to win? Remember: “Keep tour friends close, but your enemies even closer.” Until our tactic works, we’re not gonna change it!
