Today we’re gonna be getting glasses! The sad times, when they used to be just a boring, shapeless piece of glass and metal are luckily gone. There’s a huge amount of frames to choose from in the shops. Even when your eyesight is good, some people get just regular frames, as they are a perfect accessory 😉 Well chosen, they give an interesting tough to your look, they have the power to accentuate eye color, and taking attention away from your flaws. But when the choice is too wide, it’s really hard to get lost… That’s why you need to have the knowledge, and an idea, not to loose this battle. And that’s what I’ll help you with today! 😉 Step by step, closer to perfect frames. Let’s get started!
I. STEP ONE: SHOW ME YOUR FACE TYPE, AND I’LL TELL YOU WHICH FRAMES ARE PERFECT FOR YOU.
That’s the starting point, and the base for further actions. Sit in front of a mirror, tie your hair, and use a hairband to keep your fringe up. Is your face oblong, and your cheekbones, aren’t visible? If so, your face is probably oval, or round. Go for frames that have sharp lines, refractions, a little edgy shape. If your chin and jaw are more boney, or square, and cheekbones are highly noticeable – your face is square or rectangular. You have to smooth in down a bit, using round and subtle shapes. Especially the bottom of the frames should be like that. A wide forehead and a pointed neck? A triangle, or a heart! 😉 Try to avoid straight lines at the top of the frame – „cat“ glasses would be a perfect choice (well, btw, they’re a perfect medicine for „falling down“ eyelids, as they optically make the eye seem „higher“.

II. STEP TWO: A BIT OF MATHS AND GEOMETRY
We already know what’s the shape of your face, and what kind of frames you should pay attention to. Let’s run to the shop 😉 If your eye defect is significant, remember to take contacts. After all you have to see what you choose 😉 At first it’ll turn out that some of the frames are too big, other too small, too high, or too low! What to do? Calm down, don’t panic 😉 You’ve got your clothes size, so now you’ll find out that you also have your frames size 😉 Take a look at the inner part of the earflap – you’ll see a whole row of numbers and signs. So it goes like that:
A. Model number. It’ll be useful, if you’d wanna check the price in a different store, or look for them online 😉
B. The width of the lenses (in millimeters, horizontal, from the widest points. Between 35-62mm. Most standard one? 51.
C. The size of the „nose“ (between 12-26 mm). The smaller your nose is, the lower the number will be.
D. The length of the earflaps. Between 120-170 mm. The smaller the circumference of your head is, the shorter the earflaps are. Metal ones can be shortened, plastic ones folded a bit, so in this case the size is very important
WHAT IF YOUR EYE DEFECT IS BIG, AND YOU NEED THICK GLASSES?
III. STEP THREE: “DON’T LET THE DULNESS INFLUENCE THE COLORS OF YOUR DREAMS”, namely choosing the color!
Even the best fitted frames won’t give you the desired outcome, if you don’t think about the colors 😉 You surely are already aware of your coloristic type, if not – hurry up, find out here. Take it into consideration, but remember also about your hair color, complexion, and eyes. Blue eyes match brown, navy, aubergine frames. Brown and hazel – green, grey, orange. Green ones – violet and gold. If you’re a delicate and subdued type, reach for delicate colors; if it’s darker and contrastive – more expressive. With the help of colors and patterns you can also turn attention away from these parts of your face that you’re not really fond of. If you don’t like your lips, for example, put of fiery red frames – I guarantee you, everyone’s gonna be looking mostly at them 😉
