Your skin and hair, exposed to low temperatures, wind, and snow become dry and matt. There’s a way to prevent that – by applying well-chosen cosmetics, eating healthy, and dressing properly. Above all, remember to:

1. Eat something warm in the morning, or just drink a warm coffee or tea, so that your body warms up.

2. Remember to wear a cap and gloves at all times.

3. Never leave right after having a shower, with your hair still wet.

4. Remember to have a lipbalm around. If your lips get all dry, they won’t look nice, not to mention the pain.

5. Treat your skin with oils, not with moisturizers – even during the day!

Read on to find out which cosmetics I recommend for winter – they’re all reasonably priced and accessible for everyone! 🙂

DERMOSAN CREAM, PLN 10

A winter classic, about which I already wrote in this article. Read it to find out which celebrity uses it regularly 😉 It comes in two versions: a rich and semi-rich one. The first one is perfect for dry skin, whereas the other one – for oily and mixed.

BAMBINO CREAM, PLN 15

If you’re not a fan of Dermosan’s smell, Bambino cream works in a similar way. It moisturizes, eases irritations, and protects from the frost and the wind. You can get a small jar and carry it with you at all times.

VASELINE, PLN 7

Vaseline is a perfect moisturizer. It can be applied on the hands, mouth, ears, and nose – the protruding parts of the body that are most prone to frost-bites. Take it with you an your trip to the mountains and apply thoroughly on the skin.

FLOS LEK WINTER CARE CREAM , PLN 14

Perfect to take skiing with you 😉 Protects not only from the cold and snow, but also sunrays, which are as strong as in the summer. This cream is a winter must have.

PERFECTA WINTERCARE CREAM, PLN 13

Another cream for ski lovers, which doesn’t mean you can’t use it if you’re headed to a Christmas market. The sun protection is lower than in the previously mentioned one, but it certainly is a good winter protection. The Perfecta wintercare is definitely a great choice.

SHEA BUTTER, ok. 15zł

If you’re a fan of natural cosmetics, shea butter is totally for you. Obtained from an African tree, it’s a perfect way to ease and moisturize your skin. It’s hypoalergenic, so it can be used by people with sensitive skin. It’s formula is also very rich, so apply it only where you know your skin needs it.

VITAMIN A OINTMENT, PLN 3

Vitamin A, apart from its anti-ageing properties also boosts skin regeneration, strengthens its protective function and reduces water loss. It makes the skin firm and elastic. Vitamin A ointment is perfect for frost!

SIBERICA HANDCREAM „CIEPŁE RĘKAWICZKI”, PLN 10

The most interesting ingredient of this cream is bee wax, which creates a fine layer on the hands, which prevents water loss, making the skin vital and fresh. Remember to apply the cream on dry skin only.

SIBERICA FACEMASK, PLN 16

Even if you use a moisturising cream and vaseline, it’s nice to support your skin from time to time by applying a face mask. You can even leave it overnight. The Siberica mask contains, among others, Siberian ginseng, which revives the skin, and marigold extract, which eases irritations.

TISANE LIPBALM, PLN 8

Tisane lipbalm and lipstick are totally cult Polish cosmetics (I wrote about them in this article). They contain, among others, honey and castor oil, which provide deep moisturising. They can be used overnight.

BABUSZKA AGAFIA HAIRMASK, PLN 5

Even if you wear a cap, your hair might get matt and dry underneath it. Make sure to apply a hairmask from time to time. Let me reveal my magical trick: I apply it on my endings 15 minutes before I have a shower. It makes the hair moisturized and perfectly shiny! 😉

YOPE WINTER SOAP, PLN 16

I think that we all like more sweet scents in winter than in summer. Yope soap contains almonds, coconut, cinnamon, and orange. It’s a nice cozy scent for frosty mornings 😉 it’s delicate, doesn’t irritate the skin, and can be used to wash not only the hands, but also the whole body.

FARMONA „ZIMOWE OPOWIEŚCI” BATHOIL AND SHOWER GEL, PLN 18

The “Zimowe Opowieści”(Winter Tales) oil and shower gel also smell of winter. They come in nice Santa Claus like bottles, which make them a great idea for an extra present (have you already checked my list of presents to buy?). Nothing sounds better than a cinnamon and pear shower after a long day!

Watch my video and see how I pack my Christmas presents! 😉

BIELENDA BRONZING BUTTER, PLN 17

Dull and fatigued skin? That’s a big no-no! Solarium is no longer an option, a self-tanning cream is better for the summer, but… bronzing lotions are the perfect choice! They’ll immediately give you a feeling of a healthy skin. Remember to use body scrub regularly.

CINNAMON-HONEY BODY SCRUB, PLN 7

If you buy a scrub, go for a honey&cinammon one 😉 Is there a scent that is more typical of winter? I don’t think so! 😉 If you feel like doing some DIY, I recommend the coffee one. I wrote about it in this article. It makes the skin unbelievably smooth.
